Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Pasadena

Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in warehouse and shipping operations. Also called pump trucks or pallet trucks, they are used to move supplies and products around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight has a pump that can raise the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single individual.

To be able to avoid loosing control while raising heavy loads, pallet trucks should always be operated with care. Equipment should be checked prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Check that the handle turns smoothly. The pallet must be stacked carefully to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.

On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level situated on the inside of the metal loop in order to release the air in the pump and lower the forks. The forks can then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks must be at the center to ensure even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not lift the pallet very high or the forklift can unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and dragging it behind you. It is not safe to push the pallet in front of you because the momentum could cause it to go out of control. Take turns slowly and don't attempt to stop abruptly. Stop gradually, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
