When the time comes to pick the proper warehouse truck, it is a great idea to figure out how high you intend to lift your loads, how much you have to raise, how much space you have to work in and how far you would like to travel. These considerations would influence your buying decision and help decipher which forklift truck is truly the ideal one out there to meet all your requirements and meet your whole expectations.
Normal Aisles
Pedestrian stackers are the most economical as these equipment are best utilized in normal width aisles and are able to complete ordinary warehouse stacking tasks. They are capable of easily lifting loads of less than 750kg and can stack them to heights of around 4.5 metres. A different model known as rider stackers could successfully raise cargo to about 6 metres.
Reach trucks are yet a different alternative to think about. They give you much greater load and lift capacities and some models come complete with telescopic forks. This characteristic allows you the ability to stack pallets two deep. For extra flexibility in goods handling, there is a multi-way and a 4-way reach truck which as the name implies, can be driven in four directions. These models are particularly great for handling large and long items like boards, piping and planks.
The counterbalance line of trucks is best for traveling longer distances. They are a great choice for stacking jobs, particularly block stacking. They are also a great option for free stacking and stacking cargo which weigh over 2 tonnes.
A Tight Squeeze
The aisle space in a high-density storage operation would usually be much narrower, while the heights may be quite higher too. The Man-up telescopic lift trucks are best utilized in high-bay, narrow aisle stores. They offer the driver or operator a good view of the stacking process. There are other kinds known as man-up combi trucks. These are quite versatile in that they could be utilized for both stacking and order-picking tasks. They could be driven throughout the warehouse or utilized in narrow aisles.
